The organ of the cathedral of Cusco
Virgin of any intervention since their construction in the seventeenth century, the two organs of the Cathedral of Cusco lay in the dust and rubble, as a myth. Restored under the direction of Jean-François Dupont organ under the cooperation programs Chemins du Baroque factor here these legendary instruments in all their original splendor. Even more than a rebirth, this is an invaluable audio document which will address these two giants rescued from oblivion, under the fingers of Francis Chapelet and Uriel Valadeau (who signs his first recording).
Fiesta Andina, oHistoric organ of Andahuaylillas (Pérou)
To inaugurate dignity both legendary instruments (considered the oldest in the Western Hemisphere), it was the talent of two great organists. But it was here to showcase the sumptuous echo of a real festival combining Qollas Indians, children’s choir of the village and young musicians from all over Latin America for the occasion. An admirable testimony captured on the spot, in all its exuberance, and completed here by touching two sound files: first, the recording of one of these two organs by organist, made in 1965, just before this instrument goes into the silence that has just ended. On the other hand a moving reportage on the streets of this magnificent town of Peru, in the heart of the Andes.
